Today is a milestone in the development of the TANC Web app - the only Open Source Home Security Internet Connector.

I finished the initial rough draft of a complete communication cycle between a browser and my home security panel.

In the movie you can see me disarm my security system from a Web browser.

The motivation behind building an Open Source home security Internet connector is to allow people to self-monitor their property without having to pay per month fees. But, self-monitoring is not a replacement for paid monitoring services in life threatening situations. Self monitoring and self-hosted control panels provide more control and flexibility for an existing security installation.

I used the Gentelella theme - mostly because I wanted to try something different from the AdminLTE theme.

The platform and Web app are built in PHP and utilize beanstalkd as a means of Inter-Process Communication.
